1. Risk manager of the year

These awards are presented in recognition of individuals who have the aspiration, inspiration and enthusiasm to promote and support enterprise risk management within their own organisation, with demonstrable results. The nominated risk manager could be the risk officers, internal auditors, finance officers, compliance officers, marketing/sales officers or any individual within the risk team who has responsibility for Risk Management in their organisation.

2. Young risk manager of the year (age 20-28)

These awards are presented in recognition of young individuals between the ages of 20 and 28 who have the aspiration, inspiration and enthusiasm to promote and support enterprise risk management within their own organisation, with demonstrable results. The nominated risk manager could be the risk officers, internal auditors, finance officers, compliance officers, marketing/sales officers or any individual within the risk team who has responsibility for Risk Management in their organisation.

Award criteria

These outstanding risk practitioners will be expected to provide clear examples of excellence within their role. Judges will be looking for risk management processes, policies and systems they have introduced, which made significant improvements to their organisation in the last 18 months. Of particular importance is how the risk management function responded to the challenges of operating in Nigeria, and how ERM skills contributed to organisation’s performance.

Judges will be looking at how risk management enabled your organisation not just to survive, but to thrive. How has risk management contributed to the development of innovative approaches and the successful achievement of business objectives within your organisation? What difference has the use of enterprise risk management skills made to your organisation’s strength?

This year, we are introducing a special category to acknowledge and commend organizations or institutions that have demonstrated exemplary responses in connecting business risks, resilience, and innovation. Additionally, we aim to recognize those entities that have generated value through efficient handling of projects and sustainability risks. The judging panel will specifically evaluate organizations exhibiting qualities of risk leadership in various sub-categories:

  • Best Project Risk Initiative in Nigeria.
  • Best Renewal Energy Risk Initiative in Nigeria.
  • Best Sustainable Risk (ESG) Initiative.
  • Best Anti Corruption Risk Initiative.

2024 Nigerian Risk Awards-Public Vote Nomination  

The Nigerian Risk Awards (NRA) a biennial awards and c-suite premium summit is known to celebrate, recognize and reward individuals and organizations who have made measurable impact within their sector or industry through the effective application of good governance, risk management and internal control systems and strategies. 

This year, we are giving you opportunity to nominate organizations for the following based on your interactions with them: 

  1. Safest and Cleanest School Category: For schools with the high standard in child protection and safety, risk management and corporate governance.
  2. Cleanest, Safest and Friendliest Hotel Category: For hotels with high standard of hygiene, safety policies and quality customer service in the hospitality industry.
  3. Safest and Cleanest Hospital Category: For hospital with quality services, effective safety policies and practices and quality customer services in the health care industry. 
  4. Best Local Government Managing Public Safety Risks in Nigeria: For local government proactively protecting lives and communities.

We would like to inform you that nominations are now open and you can nominate one organization each under the following categories. Please Note, this award is free and strictly based on merit.  

All shortlisted entrants will have their summary submission included in the Awards table brochure (maximum 100 words).

There is no application fee, the awards are FREE TO ENTER and are open to any relevant organisation or individual.

  • Organisations can enter more than one category and are encouraged to nominate themselves.
  • The award winners will be chosen by an extensive panel of INDEPENDENT expert judges, using a fair and transparent judging process, with a detailed explanation of the judges’ final decisions to be published at Awards ceremony.
  • Award entries must be kept to a maximum of 1800 words. Entries that exceed this word limit will be disqualified.
  • Additional materials or evidences to justify application may be uploaded.
  • Judges will sign a confidentiality and Non- disclosure agreement
