Nigeria is faced with enormous socio-economic and political challenges. Nevertheless, the country’s tech ecosystem has become the most attractive for the biggest global venture capital funds. Four Nigeria-based firms, Interswitch, Flutterwave, Opay, and Andela, have achieved unicorn status after exceeding valuations of $1 billion. Technology has enhanced communication during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and improved service delivery.

The understanding and application of risk governance and leadership concept is a crucial competency for Nigerian businesses, government departments and not-for-profit organisations that are striving to use technology to drive performance and efficiency, in a post-covid world. To help business and political leaders, and other stakeholders in leveraging technology to improve decision-making process and optimize business goals, the 2022 Nigerian Risk Awards and Summit (NRA) will be exploring:

  1. the challenges and opportunities that technological disruption poses for organisations;
  2. the impact of regulation on private investment in technology and,
  3. the tools for handling technology risks in business and government.

This year’s NRA is the 6th in the series, following five successful editions we have held over the past eight years. The NRA will also recognise and reward organisations and individuals who have achieved measurable results through the effective implementation of good governance, internal controls and risk management systems.
